How can scientific structures lead to playful poetry? The Oulipo, a movement of French writers and mathematicians founded in 1960, explored this question by experimenting with creative constraints. Join us as we play with these constraints, breaking the rules of writing by creating our own. What will happen when we write without the letter "e," as Georges Perec did in his 1969 novel, A Void? What will emerge as we employ the N + 7 technique, replacing every noun with the noun seven dictionary entries after it? One hypothesis: fresh phrases, surprising prose, and a lot of fun!
